Dr. Jason Martin
Jason L. Martin, MD
Dr. Jason Martin is the founder/owner of Geriatric Post-Acute Specialists (GPS) and remains active in patient care. Dr. Martin started Geriatric Post-Acute Specialists in 2015.  Originally from Houston, Texas he graduated from the University of Texas in 2002 with a degree in Microbiology. He attended St. George’s University School of Medicine from 2003-2007, then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at UTMB Galveston from 2007-2010, where he was awarded the Resident of the Year in 2010. In 2010, he started with Seton Adult Medical Services (SAIMS) as a Hospitalist and has now transitioned to Sound Physicians. After serving as the Chief Hospitalist for several years he has recently taken on the role of Chief Medical Officer for Seton Northwest Hospital. Dr. Martin and GPS are focused on improving quality, patient experience, and reducing the cost of care. Our goal is to help patients make a smooth transition from the hospital to their next level of care.
James R. Brown
James R. Brown, MD
James R. Brown, MD is board certified in Family Practice and has been in health care for 15 years. Dr. Brown received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin and his medical doctorate from The University of Texas Medical School of Houston. He completed his family medicine residency at Central Texas Medical Foundation program (University Medical Center Brackenridge) in Austin, Texas. Dr. Brown is married and has four adult children. He is an avid golfer and bird hunter.
Ricardo Cruz
Ricardo Cruz, DO
Dr. Cruz is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He attended medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center Fort Worth, Texas doctor of Osteopathy August 1992 to June 1996. He then completed his residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch Hospitals Galveston, Texas Internal Medicine July 1996 to June 1999.

He is married with two children, and enjoys traveling with his family.
Aneesh George
Aneesh George, MD
Dr. Aneesh George is an Internist/Hospitalist at the Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas. Dr. George earned his medical degree from the University of Calicut, Kerala in India. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Residency Program at Seton in Austin,TX. He is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. George was awarded  the most valuable Physician of the year in 2015 at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center. He also published an article in the Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine, a case of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in 2012.
Raeeda Gheewala
Raeeda Gheewala, MD
Dr. Gheewala is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She attended medical school at Tuffs University School of
Medicine, then completed residency at Tuffs Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Gheewala is a Hospitalist at Seton Medical Center Austin.

Neelima Gowrigari
Neelima Gowrigari, MD
Dr. Gowrigari is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She attended Kurnol Medical College, then completed residency at University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin, Texas.
“I believe staying healthy is the biggest treasure anyone can have. However, the journey of life can take a toll on our bodies and could compromise our health. As a physician, my goal is to help you regain your most valuable possession – your health.
I enjoy the hot weather and the diversity of events that Austin offers. I frequently try to explore ‘beautiful Austin’ with my husband and young daughter. I also enjoy watching movies of various regions, as they give me insight to different cultures.”

Michael Gutierrez
Michael Gutierrez, MD

Michael Gutierrez, MD is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Gutierrez received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Pepperdine University and his medical doctorate from The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

“I enjoy spending time with my wife and our dog named Daisy. I love the outdoors, traveling, reading about history, exercising and rooting for the San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bears and UT Longhorns. I consider myself family-oriented, and I love spending time with friends.”

Micah Mann
Micah Mann, MD


Born and raised in Arizona, Dr. Mann received a B.S. in Physics before attending University of Arizona in Tucson for medical school. Upon completion of an M.D, he went on to medical training in Internal Medicine at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY. He has since practiced Internal Medicine as a hospitalist at Mount Sinai then briefly on the California coast. Since 2015, Dr. Mann has called Austin, TX, home and spends much of his free time exploring the parks and waterways of central Texas with his wife Nicole and their dog Cilantro. Dr. Mann is interested in nutrition and advocates food as the most powerful medicine for prevention and treatment of chronic disease. He is particularly interested in type 2 diabetes, obesity, hypertension and cardiovascular disease.

Zahir Momin
Zahir Momin, MD
Zahir Momin, MD is board certified in Internal Medicine and has been in health care for 23 years, having completed his residency in New Rochelle, New York. In his spare time, he enjoys cricket and is very interested in American History. He and his team see patients in your facility and would love an opportunity to assist in your care. Eric Robinson
Eric Robinson, DO
Dr. Robinson is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He attended medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center Fort Worth, Texas Doctor of Osteopathy. He then completed his residency at the St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
“The physician’s most important role is to assist the body’s inherent ability to heal itself.
In my spare time, I can usually be found spending time with my family and taking in all that Austin and the surrounding areas have to offer. I enjoy reading, all things having to do with music, brewing beer, and trying new restaurants.”

Kausik Roy
Kausik Roy, MD
Dr. Roy is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He attended Saba School of Medicine, then completed his
residency at Case Wester Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
“I believe every patient should be treated with dignity and respect. In my daily practice, I try to address all the questions and concerns my patients may have.
I enjoy volunteering my time with humanitarian organizations, especially traveling abroad with medical missions to help build communities and provide medical care to rural parts of India. My other interests include mountain biking and water sports such as snorkeling and surfing. I speak Hindi and Bengali.”

Scott Tolan
Scott Tolan, MD
Dr. Tolan is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He attended medical school at the University of Houston, then completed his residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

“For some time, medicine has been a calling, a vocation more than a profession. It is a chance to unite my gifts and desire to care for people with one of the world’s most pressing needs. I am grateful for the training and daily opportunities to improve the lives of both the patient and the family, and it is a privilege to be part of the healing and welfare of a community.

I am a Texas native from San Antonio and am happy to be back in the state. I enjoy the outdoors, fishing, live music, biking, skiing, landscaping, rock-crawling, and, of course, BBQ.”

Amita Aghera, FNP-C

Amita Aghera received her RN from the Amarillo College at Amarillo in 2004 and BSN from the University of Kansas in 2008. She gained experience in the medical-surgical, critical care and telemetry units. She worked as a hospital supervisor/chart nurse before returning to school to obtain her MSN. She graduated in 2017 from the University of Chamberlain College of Nursing with board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is passionate about providing excellent care for all people. Amita values giving individualized, evidence-based, and quality care to her patients. She is a member of AANP.

In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, watching TV and spending time with her family and friends.

Anu Antony
Anu Rose Antony, RN, CMSRN, FNP-C
Anu Rose Antony FNP-C, holds a Master’s degree in Nursing from the Texas State University and is currently working as a nurse practitioner at Geriatric Post Acute care specialist. Her clinic of practice is at Pflugerville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Anu has more than 15 years of nursing experience. Her experience includes orthopedics, medical surgical, oncology and dialysis. She is also certified in Orthopedic and Medical Surgical Nursing. Anu is a strong advocate for compassionate patient care and has a passion for Geriatric population. Before joining GPS, Anu worked as an NP at the Pain Specialists of Austin, Killeen and has served patients with chronic pain. Anu is also an active member of American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Originally from India, Anu and her family migrated to the United States in 2004. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her loving husband Vince and their two sons Steven and Andrew.
Marica Baricuatro
Marica Baricuatro, ACAGNP-BC
I am an Acute Geriatric Adult Care Nurse practitioner- Board certified. I completed my Masters in Nursing at Maryville University in 2018. I received my BSN degree in the Philippines in 1989 where I worked for three years and relocated here in the US in 1993. Ever since then I had been working mostly in the Intensive care Unit. I am a member of the American Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. I enjoy traveling with family and friends as well as home decorating and cooking. I am very passionate about nursing and decided to pursue my professional career with the belief that I could continue delivering a holistic and patient-centered care to every patient.

Dawn Brown, ANP-BC
Dawn Brown, board certified adult nurse practitioner, received her master’s degree from the State University of Buffalo, New York. She has been a long time resident of Hamburg, New York until 2016 when she moved to Austin. Her background includes Neurology, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Home Care, Gerontology, and Acute Rehabilitation.
Stephanie Cheung
Stephanie Cheung, AGACNP
Stephanie Cheung was born in Ft. Worth, raised in Houston, and grew-up in Austin. She studied nursing at The University of Texas at Austin.  Passionate about caring for the critically ill as an RN, she decided to specialize in cardiology. With encouragement from friends, family, and mentors, she went on to complete her Masters in Nursing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. In her free time, she putzes around in her vegetable garden and travels with her husband in hopes of eating her way across the globe. She also enjoys the local music scene and actively supports the SIMS Foundation and HAAM.
Sherri Cook-Roussey
Sherri Cook-Roussey, ACNPC-AG

Sherri Cook-Rousey is an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who has beenpracticing since 2015. She has experience in skilled nursing, in-patient rehab and is currently practicing at a long-term acute care hospital. Sherri has over 10 years of nursing experience as an ICU nurse. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Temple College, Temple Texas, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington Texas and her Masters in Nursing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Lubbock Texas.

Sherri is a member of several professional organizations including American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Austin Area Nurse Practitioners, American Association of Critical Care Nurses and Sigma Theta Tau (Honor Society of Nursing). She enjoys being a mentor/preceptor for Nurse Practitioner students. When she is not working, Sherri enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, reading, yoga and travel.

Julie Cruse
Julie Cruse, FNP-C

Julie Cruse is a family nurse practitioner who believes the key to providing quality care is to treat everyone with the same respect and compassion as if they were a member of her own family. She completed her first degree in nursing in 2002 at Corning Community College and worked 10 years in critical care as a Registered Nurse. During that time, she obtained her CCRN and CMC certifications. She returned to school and obtained her BSN graduating from The University Of Texas at Arlington Magna Cum Laude in 2012. She obtained her MSN degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2014 from Angelo State University. She is currently enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin studying to obtain a post master’s certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health.

She is a member of several professional organizations, including American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioners, Austin Advanced Practice Nurse’s, American Psychiatric Nurse’s Association, and the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry. In her free time, Julie is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with her husband and their children. She enjoys completing 10K’s and half-marathons, participating in several a year.

Christine Deogracias
Christine Deogracias, FNP-C
Christine Deogracias joined Geriatric Post-Acute Specialists in 2016. Sher earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing at Walden University in 2015.
She has wored at Cleveland Clinic Medical Intensive Care Unit and Clinical Decision Unit. She has also worked at Seton Medical Center Williamson in the Intensive Care Unit before transitioning to a family nurse practitioner. She is board-certified by American Association of Nure Practitioners and is currently serving on the board of Advance Practice Nurses as Social Media Coordinator.
During her free time, she enjoys taking walks with her energetic Jack Russell Terrier at Lake Pflugerville.
Duncan Geron
Duncan Geron, PA-C
Mr. Geron, PA-C, received his MS in Physician Assistant Studies from Baylor College of Medicine in 2014. Prior to joining Geriatric Post-Acute Specialists he worked with a multi-specialty surgical practice managing surgical patients and first assisting in surgeries in the Houston area. He is a member of AAPA, TAPA, and Central Texas PA Society.
Cara Goble
Cara Goble, FNP-C
Cara is a Texas transplant from St. Louis, Missouri. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Louis University, and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington. She is married and has two rescue dogs. She especially enjoys hiking the trail at Lady Bird Lake, visiting coffee shops, and traveling to Europe. Cara became a family nurse practitioner because she is passionate about upholding the dignity of those in need through empathetic and skilled medical care.

Cassandra Hollifield is a board certified Physician Assistant. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with a minor in Spanish from North Carolina State University. She went to PA school at University of Texas – Pan American where she graduated Magna cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She then went on to receive her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Since graduation, Cassandra has worked in interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, clinical cardiology, and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. She is a member of the Central Texas Physician Assistant Society where she held the position of co-president from January 2013 to May 2017.  She is a member of the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiology.

Anu Sara Kurian FNP-C, holds a Master’s degree in Nursing from the Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi, and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India. Anu has more than 17 years of nursing experience. Her experience includes medical surgical, ICU, telemetry and orthopedics. Anu gives a lot of importance to a holistic approach. She believes that healing and wholeness are matters of body, mind and spirit. She is also an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Jessica Laster
Jessica Laster, AGACNP
Jessica Laster is board certified adult-geriatric acute care nurse practitioner. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in August of 2017. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Jessica worked for 8 years as a Registered Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Jessica has been passionate about the medical field and caring for patients since she was a little girl spending time in and out of the hospital with her chronically ill father. Her childhood experience around healthcare providers inspired her to become a member of the healthcare community and to make patients experience and health better. In her free time Jessica’s hobbies include running, reading books, traveling, and spending time with her son and dog.
Laura Lovins
Laura Lovins, PA-C
Laura is beginning her career as a physician assistant with Geriatric Post-Acute Specialists, having graduated from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania in May of 2017 where she earned her Master’s of Health Science degree. Prior to attending Lock Haven, Laura did her undergraduate studies at Penn State University, where she double majored in General Science and Spanish. During PA school, she had a rotation in Round Rock where she quickly fell in love with the Austin area. She enjoys spending time outside and being active!

Robb McCauley, RN, ACNP, has been a nurse since 2004 and a Nurse Practitioner since 2013.

I graduated from South University Austin with a Master of Science degree in Nursing and am board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I completed my undergraduate education from the University of Texas at Arlington and Central Texas College in Killeen Texas. For the last 20 years my nursing experience has been in in Acute Care, Long Term Acute care, Critical Care and Skilled Nursing Care. I believe in using evidence-based medicine to provide quality care for all patients. My passion is:

Heather Petersen
Heather Petersen, FNP-C
Heather is a Family Nurse Practitioner who has been with GPS since its start in 2015. A graduate of the University of Texas in Austin, Heather spent 14 years as an RN before pursuing her goal to become a nurse practitioner. She attended Texas Tech University for her Master’s degree and graduated with honors. Heather currently lives in Cedar Park and enjoys traveling with her husband and two children as well as serving as a medical missionary. Her goal is to provide quality health care for all patients she serves.

At GPS, we provide our patients with specialized cardiology care focusing on prevention and management of chronic cardiac disease. Cassandra Hollifield is a Physician Assistant who has over eight years specializing in cardiology and has worked with many cardiologists in the Austin area. Her expertise and training benefit our patients by providing a more focused approach to your cardiac needs with the goal of improving your quality of life.

Palliative Care Services

Palliative care is specialized medical care for those with a serious or chronic illness. Our palliative care program focuses on placing you, the individual, at the center of all medical decisions. This includes educating patient and family on medical treatment options, working towards improved symptom management and the documentation of your current care choices. Our palliative care team at GPS looks forward to working with you and your family on supporting your health care goals.
